Jay began working for New Prospect Company in the spring of 1995. He currently manages and oversees multiple facets of the company to include health, safety, and environmental management duties in addition to the company vehicle fleet and facilities management.
After serving in the United States Coast Guard, Jay earned his Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Arkansas in 1991. Additionally, after 23 years of devoting his time and services as a volunteer reserve deputy sheriff, Jay retired from these duties and is currently an active adult volunteer for Boys Scouts of America.
- Worked with the US Army as a civilian employee in the management of Natural Resources and Hazardous Waste at the US Army base, Fort Chaffee, AR. At the time of the base closure in 1995 Haynes received 3 awards.

- Achievement Medal for Civilian Service “for Loyalty and Dedication,”
- Commendation, “for exceptional performance of duties while assigned as an Environmental Protection Assistant.”
- In 1996, Bituminous Insurance Company recognized New Prospect for their efforts in Safety Management.
- In 2003, became a Certified Safety & Health Specialist by the Safety Council of the Ozarks.
- In 2003, the National Safety Council recognized New Prospect Company (NPD/NPC) for fleet vehicle safety.
- In 2009, presented with two leadership awards from the Boy Scouts of America for his dedication and loyalty to the Scouting movement.
Jay is currently using his working knowledge to manage additional responsibilities in project management and other duties as assigned.
